©atlanticactu.com ? Le ministre zimbabwéen de la Santé et des Soins aux enfants, Obadiah Moyo, a été arrêté dans une affaire de corruption liée à la fourniture de matériel dans la lutte contre la maladie du nouveau coronavirus, a appris atlanticactu.com.
Arrêté pour des marchés publics douteux d'une valeur de plusieurs millions de dollars américains, Obadiah Moyo est devenu le deuxième ministre à être arrêté pour corruption présumée dans le gouvernement du président Emmerson Mnangagwa, après l'arrestation l'an dernier de la ministre du Tourisme de l'époque, Prisca Mupfumira.
Jeudi 18 juin, le Mouvement pour le changement démocratique (MDC, opposition), avait accusé de corruption le gouvernement qui avait chargé l'entreprise médicale Drax Consult SAGL, créée il y a seulement deux mois de lui fournir du matériel dans la lutte contre la Covid-19, d'une valeur de 20 millions de dollars. A ce jour, le pays a enregistré 479 cas de contamination par le nouveau coronavirus, dont quatre décès.
